Drawing inspiration from the home’s serene coastal color scheme, we set out to create a bathroom that felt both tranquil and thoughtfully designed. We started with a palette that echoed the soothing hues of the coast, but aimed to elevate the design with distinctive details. Mango wood trim on a seafoam green console vanity, bright and irregularly shaded Zellige tiles in the shower, and a ceramic flushmount light fixture sculpted to resemble waves brought unique touches to the space. Our clients wanted to transform a small galley bathroom and a wide linen closet into a shared bathroom for their son and daughter. This space, being the closest to the main living area, needed to be practical for daily use while aligning with the home’s boho, surf chic aesthetic. With Holliday Construction’s expertise, we removed the wall between the old linen closet and the small bathroom to create two distinct spaces separated by a pocket door. This smart modification allowed for privacy in the wet room while enabling another person to use the sinks and mirrors simultaneously, making the space functional for multiple users.
One of our favorite features is the vinyl wallcovering behind the vanity console. It adds an extra layer of color, pattern, and personality while being completely practical. The Zellige shower wall tile from Southeastern Tile is another standout element. Its gradient shades of teal and turquoise create a mesmerizing effect, showcased beautifully through a glass shower door instead of a curtain. Complementing the shower tiles, the simple penny tiles on the floor serve as a classic yet supportive element, perfectly rounding out the design. This project seamlessly blends functionality with a surf chic aesthetic, making it a beloved part of the home.
