In the enchanting coastal haven of Figure Eight, Wilmington, we embarked on the "Front Row Seat to Sunset" project, a breathtaking testament to the seamless integration of elevated design and the serenity of the surrounding landscape. This particular residence, a new construction venture, exudes a textured, high-contrast ambiance, fulfilling the client's desire for an upscale sanctuary with an emphasis on quality. Nestled in this carefully curated space are comfortable seating arrangements strategically positioned to capture the unrivaled views, allowing for moments of tranquility or entertaining their extensive family.
Our design concept places the incredible view at the forefront, opting for neutral furnishings that act as a canvas for the picturesque surroundings. The open-concept space gracefully connects through the artful interplay of darker walnut and espresso wood finishes amid lighter cream fabrics and caning. One of the design's highlights is the reimagined porch — segmented into four distinct seating areas, each tailored for various purposes. Whether it's unwinding with a glass of wine, enjoying an al fresco meal, or savoring a cigar sheltered from the wind, every corner of the porch encapsulates the allure of coastal living. A particularly cherished element is the subtle tone-on-tone patterns in upholstery and rugs, adding depth without overshadowing the scenic beauty. Notably unique, this project unfolded during a Dine + Design session, where design concepts for the living room, dining, and kitchen were collaboratively crafted over a delightful dinner and a bottle of wine, resulting in a harmonious blend of client vision and designer ingenuity.
